NBA Branded Boardshorts from Quicksliver

It’s not everyday you get an email an email from the NBA, unless of course you work there, but this email slid its way into my inbox this morning, so I thought I’d share the news I received from NBA HQ. See the full release below.

The National Basketball Association and Quiksilver today announced a multi-year merchandising partnership in which Quiksilver, the world’s leading manufacturer of surf  apparel, will create a line of NBA branded boardshorts.  The line will be available for the summer beach and surfing season and the initial collection will feature the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic.

The Quiksilver NBA mens boardshort line is now available at  Quiksilver flagship store locations nationwide, select Quiksilver retailer partners, Quiksilver.com and will be available at NBAStore.com. NBA boardshorts retail for $65 and feature Quiksilver’s “Diamond Dobby” fabric technology along with other innovative design elements from the company’s top-of-the-line boardshorts which have been created for and worn by the world’s best surfers.

Now, for those of you who know me, you’ll appreciate that I love tooling around in my cargo shorts and flip flops. But in the summer, when I’m headed to a water-bound destination, my los patalones cortos of choice are Boardshorts, just like these from Quiksilver. Gotta show some support for my neighbors…Go Lakers!

Now we just need Quiksilver to do the same type of licensing deal with yours truly, so we can come out with an “Undershirt Guy”-branded summer shirt.
