Bye Bye Laundry Odor Eliminating Hangers
Although still a concept, Lisa Marie Bengtsson’s Bye Bye Laundry invention aims to help reduce waste, by providing us with the facility to launder our clothes less often.
‘Bye Bye Laundry’ keeps clothes fresh and clean using activated charcoal. Activated charcoal is carbon that has been treated with oxygen, which results in a highly porous material that absorbs the odour.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating wearing underclothing more than once per day, but for other things we wear, I think this could be pretty interesting.
I for one, would try this on workout gear as an alternative to odor-eliminating washing solutions, to see if the activated charcoal could help minimize the smells that build up in my moisture wicking (aka polyester, nylon, etc.) gear.
If you were not aware, charcoal (and silver) is used in many textiles to make workout gear that won’t begin to stink after repeated wearing.
